Info

In my opinion, communication education should equip students with the knowledge and ability to reflect on the essentials and processes of human communication and to develop analytical and problem-solving skills in the face of ever changing communication environments, applying these to their daily lives and career development. Through creative, active, and interactive activities and collaboration in and outside of my classroom, students learn to build awareness of the impact of new communication means on themselves, other individuals, groups, organizations, and societies. Moreover, I place high importance on the role of experiential learning. As part of the course structure, students are often tasked to initiate and perform a full-scale project with a community organization or a local business. I believe these practical and student-centered learning strategies can help students better understand the material; they can also facilitate a lifelong learning orientation for students.
